Human Resources + Payroll Associate Position


Department: Finance & Human Resource
Reports to: Director of Finance
Type of Position:  40 Hours/Week, Non-Exempt, Hybrid Role with required in-office time
Pay Range: $35/hr - $40/hr

Accountability

PAYROLL + HR

  • Process weekly payroll accurately and efficiently 

  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding process for employees

  • Act as an HR liaison, collaborating with outsourced HR firm to support team members

  • Enhance existing processes and develop procedures in all areas of payroll and HR

ACCOUNTING + BOOKKEEPING

  • Record payroll journal entries and manage labor allocations in QuickBooks 

  • Reconcile cash accounts and ensure accuracy 

  • Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable Associate 

  • Assist with the invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections process as needed

  • Assist with job costing and assist with month-end close processes as needed

  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to process change orders and troubleshoot variances 

  • Input job budgets into QuickBooks and create new jobs in SmartSheet 

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise 

  • Tech-savvy and eager to learn new systems and tools 

  • Ability to quickly learn and operate our Smartsheet project tracking system 

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

  • A proactive and responsive approach to tasks and challenges 

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines effectively 

  • Assertive yet compassionate communication style 

  • Experience in suggesting and implementing process enhancement is a plus 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field is preferred 

  • 3+ years experience in a similar finance and HR role

  • Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment preferred
